Funny you should ask The tracks are available to practise now. The first timed date will be the 22nd of August. We are working on a full list of provisional dates. Now. If you did not compete in the first round the championship is not available to you. However do not be disheartened, you are welcome to enter the following Rounds, and compete for stage wins and Rally wins. We hope to make an announcement regarding prize money this week. And look out for some fun special stages. (More details soon)

Oh ok I'm already practicing the stages for round 2 although think it's a bit unfair can't go for the championship especially with it only being round 2.

Not unfair just practical. I'm sure you will reconsider your comment when just take stock of the monumental amount of effort and time put into this By the people involved.
Over the past 6 weeks a website plus numerous video have been made. Tracks have been designed and we have run 10 sessions In total allowing competitors to post times, each session has had updated times offered within minutes. Hundreds of messages, via xbl, this forum, Facebook, Twitter and r* social club. over 8 practise sessions. Full cometary and streaming on twitch for every session has been offered. Pictures have been taken, edited. And each round has been specifically promoted.
To have people running the 1st round after the set date and now the 2nd round has started is not plausible. It would mean time committed to starting new lobby's to run players and collect times. It would mean recalculate the leaderboards and changing over the graphics, updating the website, Twitter and Facebook plus the 2 forums with the results are placed on.
We could wait but this would mean that players that have run there times over 3 weeks ago would have to wait.
In some ways you will technically be in the championship. Players that are entering in the latter rounds, will be awarded the slowest time posted on each stage by the plus 5 seconds. The same rule is applied if people miss a round.
We have taken every possible step to include and acomidate everyone, even offering individuals the option of running the race to fit into there schedule.
The event is unique in the way that it operates, and allows people a chance to run times over a period of weeks. Fitting in with there schedule. It would have been far easier for myself and cactus to publish tracks. And set one date, were we collected times. But we haven't we have offered different dates, to give opportunity and chance. But there has to be a cut off, and unfortunately it has passed.

What I'm saying is 8 don't want to run round one I appreciate that has passed what I'm saying is why can't I have equal chance to go for the overall title from round 2 not that I'm saying I'm fast but If I posted fastest times for the remaining rounds would that not mean overall I'm the winner?

nope it would not. technically if you joined in round 2 in your example you would have the quickest time. approx 6-7 mins faster if you won the remaining rounds & stages. because you have not set a time in round 1.
how can you have an equal chance from round 2 ? equal to who ? everyone has a different time, times are carried over from previous rounds.
As stated your time for round 1 will be the default time. slowest time on each stage + 5 seconds. this is fair to the person in last place. you can still technically win the overall championship from this. But you have a lot of time to make up on the leaders.
You also still have the kudos of winning the rounds. If you post the fastest overall time in round 2. You will be the overall winner of Round 2.

Any news on special stages or has this idea been scrapped for now due to the amount of work the regular stages require? I could maybe look at designing a special stage arena style?

Endurance sounds fun. Have pit lanes to repair your car so you don't have to respawn.
